I am sorry if this is not the right place to post or question is basic but I have searched and searched and I am desperate.

I just purchased a DVR R15 to work with Directv. Was told I could connect two tvs and watch two different channels with one receiver. Does anyon know if this is true? I currently have have two cables running to reciever and another cable from reciver running to another tv. I can watch the same channel on both tvs but can't watch two different channels. Can anyone help me to understand if I can watch two different channels on two different tvs and how I would go about making it work.

I thank you in advance for your assistance regarding this.
Kristin

The R15 is not a TiVo, so you probably will not find much help here.

However, I doubt you can watch the two tuners separately. The DVR can record two channels at once. Most likely you can only watch one thing at a time, whether it be one of the two tuners or a recorded program.

Not even with a true tivo can you watch two different things with one box at the same time.

All outputs from the R15 and other True DirecTV DVRs have the same program.

The only DVR that allows separate viewing is one of the Dish Network models.

Your question has been answered by Edmund and JimSpence. For additional information on the R15 itself, you might check www.dbstalk.com - there is a specific forum there for the R15, and a lot of information.
