I Have A TiVo S3 Problem. Help Please!!

here's what is happening.

Coax to TV = perfect picture

Coax to Tivo to TV (via hdmi or component)- here is what is happening:

The picture when in panel mode (for SD content) is displaying two thin vertical lines on either side of the picture, this only happens with 4:3 content and doesn't affect the picture on any of the digital channels or when HD is in 4:3.

the lines turn different colors based on the picture.

Ex: red car would cause the lines to be purple.

anyone else have a problem like this?

Question: What resolution do you have your TIVO set to? Fixed or Native.

The reason I ask is, this sounds like it is likely a underscan issue. If you have the TIVO set to fixed resolution, it could be scaling the signal is such a way that it is two small for your set. If you do have it on fixed, set it to native and see if the problem goes way.

If you already have it on Native, then you may have a problem.

If you have the problem on native, try fixed 1080i. If you have the problem on fixed 1080i, try native.

hmmmm well its still doing it, although it is less on fixed 1080i.....should I contact tivo about this???
