What second DirecTV Tivo to get???

I've currently got an R10 that I use in my living room and love it. I'd like to get a second Directv Tivo for my bedroom or a new one from the living room, depending on what I get. I'm looking to buy on eBay or any dealer they you guys would recommend. Is there something better then my R10 that I can replace it with and move the R10 to the bedroom? Is there a model that I can get a sweet deal on for the bedroom? If I buy one for the bedroom, it doesn't need much of a hard drive, so a 35-hour or less unit would be fine. I've never filled up my R10.

If I get something off eBay, can I just put my smart card in it from the "normal" tuner I'm currently using in my bedroom to get service? Do I have to call to set it up? Will directv charge me for the second Tivo anymore then what I'm paying for the standard tuner?

You will have to activate the new box with DirecTV and will pay the mirroring fee (but not another DVR fee.) DirecTV will probably tell you to get a new access card but you might be able to convince them to activate the box with your current card, depending on how old it is.

As for models, the any of the Series 2 DTiVos are fine - the Philips DSR704 is popular.

$20 for a new card...if they make you get one. I've had it go both ways. I've had to buy one for one tivo, then the other one they just moved a card I had out of an old receiver I no longer use. Depends on the CSR you talk to. Kill 'em with kindness, i've never had a problem!

I just bought a new Tivo brand on ebay with 80 GB harddrive and it comes with new card so I won't have to buy a new card, I will try to activate my old card
and keep the new one to sell with my older equp.
