View Full Version : Zippered Communication Problem ?

I have a Series II DTivo Zippered with 6.2 installed, Until just recently everything has worked flawlessly (Thanks Zipper creators/contributors) But now for some reason I have lost almost all network communications with my TiVo I can still ping the device but Telnet & TivoWeb are dead. I didn't make ANY changes to the box(or rc.sysinit.*) prior to the problems So I am wondering if anyone has any insight on what might of happened or what I can do to fix it without a serial cable or removing the drive from the box (this may be impossible to do) Oh I also switched USB ports to see if that might make any difference. THANKS !

Have you rebooted it.

I have this exact same problem now. The machine is still pingable but it seems that all of the network services are disabled. It also seems that the UCID stuff isn't working anymore, either - although I don't think it is related.

I lost my brand new HR10-250 /instantcake/Zippered/sliced 6.3
to an overnight upgrade to 6.3a !

Now, I'm pretty sure it was because I did a call to the mothership
to see what would happen, to see if I would get the 6.3 to 6.3a
thats exactly what happened!


DUH!!!!

Lesson learned!

I want to have the phone line connected for the PPV stuff

any way to do that and keep the hacks???

I am beginning to think that I will have to re-zipper it. :-(

Yea I have tried rebooting it, If I re-zipper the drive will I loose everything, or can I do it w/out a virgin drive ?

I am not sure if you can downgrade a version or not. I did a quick search and didn't see anything here about that (I could be wrong). You might want to DDB.

I can't even get in to a bash prompt from the serial port. I can see all of the boot stuff, but never get access to the bash prompt - crap. I don't want to have to reload the hd again.

As long as you tell it not to reload from image, right?
