Just curious if anyone else has seen this. I noticed this morning that my S3 front panel showed it was recording on one of the tuners. I looked and it was a Paid Advertising title. I did not set it to record this. I pulled up Now Playing and nothing showed up as recording. I left it recording and when I returned from work, I checked now playing again. ..Nothing showed up. Very strange. Thanks for any feedback.

It was likely recording the Tivo Showcases or other promotional material.. Perfectly normal. They sit in the background hiding until such time as they are made available in Tivo Central.

Thanks for the quick reply. So, it will show recording something on a tuner used by my cable cards? If it was from Tivo, I would think it would come when the S3 connected to Tivo via ethernet in my case.

Tivo leases time during the overnight hours from networks like Discovery and TLC and the Tivo records the video.

Oh....ok, thanks. I am new to Tivo and was concerned something might not be right. Thanks for clearing it up.

and PAX network broadcast stations too if i recall.
You can actually see them in th eguide if you search- they used to be listed as Teleworld paid program or some such. Teleworld was apparently the name Tivo originally picked but someone decided TiVo was better.
Can you imagine the water cooler talk?
"did you see lost last night?"
"no dont tell me about it I teleworlded it"
wouldn't have worked.... :D

You'll also see the red 'recording' LED on the front panel with no program name shown if the Series 3 is recording a Suggestion. Personally I hope Tivo makes it an option in the future to show the name of the suggestion being recorded on the front panel.

That drives me crazy. In fact I turned off suggestions because I didn't like not having anything showing telling me what was being recorded. And I turned them off because I was getting junk like daytime court shows (Judge Judy type stuff) that I have NO interest in, the first day I got the box! This after I spent lots of time re-adding all the season passes that were recorded by the now-retired series 2 (which is unplugged from the cable line... I really need to remove all the passes from it because it's probably full of "I have no guide data!" and "couldn't record because I had no signal!" warnings ...) And I was getting sports. I am so uninterested in sports that I've had people tell me I need my head examined!
If it can't show the program name, it needs to say "Suggestion".

If it can't show the program name, it needs to say "Suggestion".If it doesn't show the program name, it is a Suggestion. How is it adding any value to show the word "Suggestion" instead of being blank?
