I am on a borrowed pc and need to add some web access utilities to my upgraded hard drive. I downloaded the Universal Boot CD from PTVUpgrades. On it is a version of TivoWebPlus ver 1.2.1
I would like to use TivoWebPlus on my Mac.... So my questions are
1) Is this all I need to reach my TiVo on the Network?
secondly, the upgraded drive is hooked up to the secondary ide and I am booting from the supplied cd. I can navigate to the folder with the twp121.tar.gz, but what are the commands to unzip that to the connected TiVo drive.
I have very little experience with Linux and pc's in general.
Thanks

You use the term "upgraded hard drive" by this do you mean that it is "hacked" to allow access via the USB port?

I downloaded the Instant Cake CD and used that to put on new TiVo software. The USB port was usable with the original 80 gig drive. I assume the IC software will be the same. Is this right?

It would be easier for me to use the Universal Boot CD form PTVUpgrades to add the TiVoWebPlus to the drive. I am not familiar with Telnet....
The model is a Series 2 240080 and the Instant Cake drive is a Seagate 400gb

I'm afraid that I am not that familiar with the PTVupgrade Universal Boot CD. And it just occured to me that you probably have a Stand alone tivo series two which has built in USB connectivity, which I am even more unfamiliar with.
The only method that I am familiar with on getting Tivowebplus onto a tivo is to FTP it over via the ethernet. I am not even sure that you can put it on the disk via a computer hookup straight to the disk. Sure you could probably copy it onto the tivo disk, but you need to make changes to the tivo software to get it to start up the tivowebplus when the tivo boots up. And I am pretty sure you need to use Telnet in order to accomplish that.
You need to read some of the Tivowebplus threads on this for more accurate information than I can provide.
