No lights on the front...blue screen and not a sound from the hard drive. I opened the case and it was full of dust so I blew it out with a can of air and didn't see any componet that looked fried or wrong. Still nothing happening except the fan runs....
Any tips or tricks? I ordered a new dual tuner 180 gig unit but it would be cool to get this one back to life if possible. I have computer knowledge and have worked on everything under the sun from main frames to PCs so I know my way around a circuit board and components.
Thanks

With all that dust in the case, there could be a short almost anywhere, and you'd never notice without going over the board with a magnifier. Even then, you might not see it. I forget whether there are any fuses on the board, but that's what I'd look for first. Those, at least, are easily and cheaply replacable.

Weeknees does sell tivo power supplies.

I looked for a fuse since that is the way I would have built it....like a fuse on the 5v or 3.3v which is typical pwr on a motherboard. I would need a wiring diagram for the power supply to be able to check voltages.
Anyone out there have such a diagram?
I will check out the cost of a new supply...but would hate to buy one and find that something on the MB is bad.

I just asked some questions at weeknees to see what they think. It might be worth it to try a Pwr supply since they are $49.99. I can return it if that doesn't get it. It has always worked just great....until it gave it up. It has been running none stop for 3yrs so I can't complain. It only gets turned off if our pwr goes off. There is no on/off switch so it just keeps going.
