Have been unable to update the listings for a couple of weeks now, Error messages have been mostly "Unknown" However, I have started getting the error message "failed while loading series"
Called tivo services and they advised me to do a full system reset, which I have done, I am getting the same error message on the first setup call that the box makes. Called them back and was told my box was now unusable.
Is this the case ? or is there any way to by pass the setup routine as i could have managed just fine with manual recordings, which i have been doing the last couple of days.
Guy on the other end of the phone told me it's a modem fault although it does dial and download fine. Is this the case?
Have had no symptoms of the drive going belly up but if it is the drive, is a 40G drive still available? Could really do with a cheap fix as funds are stretched right now. Thanks in advance for any help recieved.
Edit...Update
Changed the details to aerial + sat and it has now managed to import the data and I am now continuing with the set-up

I had that problem a while back. A full reset + guided setup fixed it in the end though I had to do it twice: first selecting a totally different source (RF only) and fake postcode, and then again with my real source (Sky Digital). It took a very long time.
Have had no trouble since and I'm still using the same two drives (original 40Gb + new 120Gb) that I have had for years.

Try re-running Guided Setup in "aerial only" mode and with a different postcode to your normal one. Then re-do it with the correct information.
There is a bug somewhere that leads to corruption in the database that can sometimes be cleared by one or both of the above operations.
If the above fails and you have access to a PC you could always re-image the existing drive from scratch. That should fix it.

Thanks for the ideas guys ;)
Unfortunately, It didnt work. It gets to 100% on the Importing then just sits there for a couple of mins and then comes up with the same error message.
So it's drive out the box and try the fresh image on it.
One quick question, The hard drive that I will load the image on to (before loading it across to the tivo drive) has to be fat32, does this drive need an OS on it? and also will the format be OK on this if formatted from within XP ?

The drive your copying from can be Fat32 and doesn't need an os, as you will boot from a linux boot CD.
It doesn't mater what is on the Tivo drive, as the MFSRestore command overwrites all data and partitions. Just make sure it is writing to the right drive ;)

Many thanks for the various suggestions and help given to me on this problem.
I am now happy to report that re-imaging the drive has done the trick and i'm now back up and running :D
A huge virtual pint is on the bar for one and all who helped ;)

I'm just installing a new Hard Drive from TivoHeaven and getting the same message. So does this mean the drive is duff? I'm stuck in the guided setup screens at the moment.
