I am planning to take my R10 out of service, in favor of one of the newer Dual Tuner TIVO cable units, which I am using with standard cable.

There are 22 hours of my wife's favorite shows still on the unit.

After I cancel the subscription, will I be able to watch the recordings that are still on it? If necessary, I can leave the dish connected until all the stored episodes are watched.

Any tips appreciated.

I would rather just watch these shows and then get rid of them, than archive them.

Just disco the receiver from the dish, THEN disco your account w/D*.
You will still be able to watch all existing recordings.

When we sold our house last year I moved our 3 D*Tivo boxes to the rental house and was able to watch all the existing programs... then put them in boxes to wait for the new house after all the recorded shows had been watched and deleted

Every time I turned on the TV it showed the "searching for signal" message... I just went to the playback screen and selected what I wanted

Thanks, I'll give the disconnect from dish a try.
