Question on returning an R15.

My dad has an R15 and wants to return it in place of an older directv tivo that I am willing to give him. Can anyone confirm if he can simply ship the R15 back to directv and set up my directv tivo in its place. I'm concerned that he is going to get hassled by directv and they won't let him ship the r15 back.

wen called back about hearing i was getting one they said to just send it back and call and tell them you chnaged your mind.

You need to call DirecTV and ask them what to do in this regard. Don't just ship it back blindly. Maybe you can just hang onto it with it de-activated and save shipping cost. Also, you may be able to use the access card out of it with the R10. Many possible scenarios, so check with D* first and see what they suggest.

They will let him return the R-15 but he is still stuck with the two year commitment. When you call they will send out a FedX return kit with instructions for no charge.
