Are there any powered multiswitches that can handle approx 30 RG6 cables?
I have:

6 bedrooms with 2 RG6 outlets each (2 will have dvr's) = 16
greatroom = 2
kitchen = 1
master bathroom = 1
garage = 1
sunroom = 2
outside deck = 3
Pool = 1
Basement theather area = 2 (DVR)
Basement Bar = 1

I will be doing structured wiring for the house, distribution panel etc....

The new Zinwell WB616 multiswitch provides 16 outputs. You can use wideband splitters to split the four incoming dish connections to feed two WB616's, providing 32 outputs. You'll want to be sure to install the new 5-LNB AT9 dish so you're ready for all of the new HDTV channels becoming available.

Looks like this is going to be an awesome house!

Those are the biggest I've seen

I'd say put up two dishes, then run two central locations, one for each side of the house.
If only one dish, that's going to be some really long cable runs.
Doesn't DirecTV recommend 100 feet or less?

Unfortunately these multiswitches are not compatible with the new AT9 MPEG4 Ka/Ku-band 5-LNB dish.

In that case, these are the biggest I've seen:

OP didn't specify 5lnb or 3lnb dish.

The question I have is whether all of those lines need to be active? Will you have receivers connected to all of them? If not, just have them available to connect at the distribution panel as needed. If yes, then what they said.:)

No, I guess I don't have to make all those lines active. I might just use the 2 dish setup with the 2 4x16 powered multiswitchs.

This is what I've done as I'm able to "hide" the dishes by mounting them in areas not normally seen from the ground. It seemed logical to me as it removed the risk associated with long coax runs and eliminated a single source point of failure.

Last question, are there any multiswitches for the new 5-LNB AT9 dish?

Thanks for all the info.

Those ones claim to be made for that dish.

They are the big ones, but solidsignal sells the normal 4x8 ones as well.
I've never dealt with solidsignal, they were the first to pop up when I did a google search for big multiswitches, but I haven't heard anything bad about them.

Solid Signal is a good company. The recommended AT9 multiswitch is the Zinwell WB68 (for 8-outputs), or the new WB616 (for 16-outputs).
