Where would a person get detailed instructions hopefully with pictures on how to strip and attach F connectors to R6 quad cable?

Diagrams come with most connector packs.

For the best connections, use the compression ones. Lowe's has a very inexpensive tool for attaching the connectors and the connectors aren't too expensive if bought in bulk. I also have a simple tool, also from Lowe's, that will prepare the end of RG-6 in one operation. This past spring I replaced every RG-6 connector with the compression type.

I have the necessary tools and connectors. The prcedure is clouded in my mind. I was hoping to find some detailed instructions with pix.

The 3rd result when I did this is from www.hometech.com and there are many others

Thank you very much...that is exactly what I was looking for.

If you are using a compression fitting and attachment tool, do be VERY SURE you have the right fitting for the coax
In other words... a fitting made for a Quad Shield coax will NOT work with a Dual Shield coax cable (and, I think, a connector made for a Dual Shield coax will not even go on a Quad Shield cable due to thickness)

You are very correct. You win a biscuit. :)

Dog or Horse?
Actually, I'd rather have a Samuel Adams

Hmm, this might be obvious, but I had some minor trouble with it. If you have the dual RG6 cable, where two coax are attached for ease of pulling, after separating the ends to attach the connector you will probably need to trim away the excess connecting material otherwise the compression connector won't fit well on the cable (or might not fit at all).

So, are the compression fittings universal? If I buy the tool from Lowes (which is made by Ideal, IIRC), can I use it with connectors of other brands? The tool is a good price at Lowes, but the connectors are very costly.

I have the "small" Ideal tool, where the connector fits into a slot in the handle (not the "big" tool where the connector fits into the head assembly) and it has worked with two different brands of connector
