Ok so my parents now have two Tivos at home. I have one up at school and I am in my Senior Year and will graduate and go off working (hopefully) by next summer maybe Fall. My parents were nice enough to do three years prepaid service on my Tivo and then after that it is up to me to keep up the monthly cost. I setup my Tivo on my own account but then forgot that for MRV and TTG back to the Tivo they have to have the same MAK. Due to different acocunts this is not the case. I will be home for the winter break (2-3 weeks) and will take my Tivo with me and I may or may not be home some during the summer, all depends on if I can get a job and living, etc. So then the question comes:
Should I transfer my Tivo into my parents account? Problem is then it will be there for three years until prepaid is done and I can transfer it to my name. It is a tough call cause MRV I might be able to live without or I could do multirecording since the living room Tivo has 320 hrs on it (basic) and TTG files I can convert to MPGs, which will also allow me to cut commercials at the same time. I just don't know what to do.

You might be able to live without MRV???
Wow, I knew TiVo was addictive, but that's nuts. :D

I never had MRV as my parents just got the 2nd tivo when I got my first one. Problem with my Tivo doing MRV is I will be using a B adapter while the other two tivos will have the Tivo G. I dunno really what to do, I keep flipping back and forth for whatever reason. I am not sure I even need MRV as my Tivo will record the shows I want and the shows I will watch with the parents while at home can record in the living room. Also with my own account then when the three years are up I don't have to go in and contact Tivo and transfer it again and then my current TTG files will then have to be re-encoded or transfered again. Sigh...
On a side note though I get to take a nice trip to the post office to mail off the two rebates for the new Tivos.

There you go. You've answered your own question. :)

I think I did too, I just like seeing if I missed any other points. I also just remembered my bedroom does not have a TV in it anymore as it is at school. During Winter Break I would not have a TV unless I moved into the upstairs garage apartment or steal the kitchen TV.
