Just bought another Tivo for my Mother who lives in Southern Spain and has Sky Digital and have just set it up
In order to get the tivo to dialup I have inserted a prefix of '901988888,,' this being the local UUNET access number for Spain
However, I can't seem to get a connection at all.
Modem definitely works as I did the setup on the Tivo prior to leaving the UK
Have tried the obvious stuff such as using different cables / shorter cables etc / disconnecting other devices on the line
Also changing the dialling options (avail detection off / dial tone detection off)
I'm *fairly* certain this is to do with the Telefonica Voicemail service on the line
Is there anyone else using one in Spain? Was the Telefonica service causing a problem when you set yours up?
Does anyone know the code to switch it off?
She has a PC which dials up fine using it's internal modem
Also what would be involved in upgrading the tivo to update wirelessly? Am fairly competent at installations and the Tivo in question appears to have 'tivoland' firmware though I'm uncertain as whether this would already contain the ability to utilize a wireless card. Perhaps someone can point me right?
Thanks in advance for any advice
(My Tivo at home incidentally has been happily chugging away for the past 5 years and is *far*superior to my Sky+ in all but Dual Tuners )
