Can you import HD TiVos from USA?

I havn't read anything about TiVo HDs, but my friend is round atm and wonders if he gets a USA TiVo which records HD, will it be functional in the UK please?

No. HD Tivos work with the US HD system which is completely different to ours so far as broadcast technology goes.
