I assume that if you have an 890 (not 880)you are using the RF signal...
1) I have heard that Tivo FF / RW and menus sometimes have a delayed response ~1s or so?
2) Do wireless networks interfer? How consistent is the remote overall? failure rate? I live in a building wher there are 20+ networks...
Thanks.

The 890 itself uses RF and IR. It has an external pod called a wireless extender that you place near the equipment that you want to control via RF.
You use the software to select the devices you want to control via RF, and via IR.
I own the 890, but am not currently using the extender. My first one wouldn't mate with the remote, so they sent me a replacement remote. It's also a PITA to set up the extender, and my components were working fine without it.
Hope this helps some.

Try asking over at the Remote Central (http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-harmony/list.cgi) forums, in the harmony section (linked for your benefit).
