the picture quaility of my tivo 2 series is bad, help?

hi i just hooked up my tivo 2 series to my lcd tv and the picture looks bad. It looks good when i am just using my cable box to watch tv but when hooked up tivo, its just plain bad. low detail, fuzzy, and very dark. what could it be? the cables maybe? i am using generic red/yellow/white connection that are cheap. or is it a setting within my tivo?

any suggestions will be welcomed.

Use the S-video cable for your video. It will greatly improve the quality. If recordings look bad, try recording at a higher quality. The larger and better the TV, the easier it is to see the artifacts caused by highly compressing the video.
