WOULD LIKE TO SEE TIVO ON DEMAND:confused:
Download Movies, pay for them and watch them. Comcast does it with Digital Cable. Why can't we do it on our TIVOS?

Do we have Download TIVO Servers that we can share network recorded shows?
If this is here please let me know. I am in the dark and can't find in through websearch. :rolleyes:

You're thinking of bitTorrent. Tivo recorded shows can't just simply be transfered peer-to-peer, and this DEFINITELY is not the place for that.

As for Tivo On Demand, that is actually a function that has been talked about a lot on this site and could possibly be a part of Tivo in the future.

If you just want to rip movies, you can find plenty of other places online to do it.

TiVo files transfered to a PC are encrypted and can only be downloaded to another TiVo on the same account, so you will not find any sort of sharing network.

As for paying for downloaded movies... TiVo is working on it, but content deals are hard to get, especially for an IP based solution like TiVo needs. The MPAA is terrified of piracy and they really hate all technology that involves their content being downloaded over the internet. Heck even companies like MovieLink and CinnemaNow, which are owned by studios and have been in business for years, have very limited collections. The MPAA seems to be cool with cable provided VOD because it's streamed, and not downloaded, to the user. Which makes it more secure in their eyes.

TIVO has obviously worked out the copyright issue. We are allowed to record and download because of non commercial free programming. If we were to share TIVO files via community network. Commercials would of course be part of that. Ripping and burning of product is nice, however; I am talking without violating copyrights of TIVO Corp. We can currently go to TIVo community and purchase movie tickets. Where is the community movie and network servers. I would love to never miss a show and pay 99 cent to catch that last episode of Stargate SG1 or Surviver, or up to 5.99 for last lastest new Release DVD rental. Lets get into the new age of TIVO! :up:
