Ok, after more than 1 hour of reading posts and searching, I've decided to post:

I have acquired a used HR10-250.
This is my second HR10-250.
I have a brand new harddrive for it (320GB)

From my previous upgrade (months ago, with my first HR10-250), I have already purchased:
ICAKE-S2DT- HDInstantCake for Series2 HDTV DirecTiVo Units (3.1.5f)
PTVnetHD PTVnetHD Utility CD for Hughes/DirecTV HR10-250 / HD10-250 with TiVo

and have those ISO's written to CD.

I also (as of last night) got the 6.3 upgrade on my first HR10-250.
This is NOT the unit I want to change.
The unit I want to change is the used (second) unit I mention above.

I would like to have (at the end of the day)
A 6.3xxxxxxxx unit.
And with "Telephone Call DISABLED=True"

That is the only modification I'm super interested in for this unit.
I don't mind having extra stuff, but if it complicates issues, then this is the only must have one.

I also see now there is a new ISO available:
S2-SLICER The Slicer (1.3)

I'm trying to figure out what I can do:

Scenaro #1.
Use the ICAKE-S2DT and the PTVnetHD to get the unit to a:
3.1.xxxxxxxxx Software Version
Telephone=Disabled

Hook it up, and wait for the 6.3 to come down "au natural".

The issue being, does the Telephone=Disabled still work, or is this specific feature undone by the upgrade?

Scenario #2.
Use the second Tivo (which already has 6.3a), do a backup, and restore on the newer Tivo.
Run the PTVnetHD on it, selecting only the Telephone=DISABLED option.

Scenario #3
??
I don't know. What do you think?

It seems the S2-SLICER is a "after the fact" tool, where I can do stuff, but to use it, I have to have the Tivo ethernet'ed up.

........................................

Thanks for any advice.
Please, I tried to search and figure it out. There's so much 6.3 talk lately, that the number of posts is ferocious.

Scenario 2 is the best option especially if you already have 6.3 on one of your tivos.
