My tcd24* continues to freeze every few days.

When not frozen the unit has serial, telnet, bash access etc. It is running the latest software.

I already replaced the power supply, the orignal was definitely shorted / broken. I have tried removing the outlet out from behind the power strip, and plugging it directly into the wall.

My guess is the Hard Drive is failing. Before I pony up for a new one though, is there anything else to troubleshoot?
Is the "freeze" captured in any of the logs?
Does Clear & Delete Everything wipe telnet/author file/iptables/netfilter or anything like that?
Is there anything to gain by doing a C&DE?

My guess is the Hard Drive is failing. Before I pony up for a new one though, is there anything else to troubleshoot? You can remove the drive and run manufacturer diagnostics on it (though that will probably just confirm that the drive is dying).
Is the "freeze" captured in any of the logs?Good question, I don't think it is, but I've never looked in the logs for that.
Does Clear & Delete Everything wipe telnet/author file/iptables/netfilter or anything like that? No, C&DE rebuilds the MFS partitions, it does not affect your ext2 partitions (/ and /var).
Is there anything to gain by doing a C&DE?Yes, you can often squeeze a bit more life as rebuilding the MFS can cause your programs to be recorded to different (perhaps less worn) sections of the hard drive platters. You could even manually repartition the entire drive to omit worn out sections of the drive; however, all of this is diminishing returns for most.
