Tivo not working [Text View]

Hi,

my Tivo no longer works. It stays frozen at the start up screen where it says to wait a few more minutes.

Checking the forum, it seems likely the modem has blown. I tried the kick start methods (2 of the codes). It didn't help.

So what are my options? What else can i try?

If your modem is blown then you can get your updates via the internet using a cachecard.

To verify the blown modem theory you can pull the drive and disable the modemtest program, by mounting it in a PC, booting from the NIC install CD from www.silicondust.com and deleting the file from /tvbin in the system partition (usiaully 4), or fit a new drive with it already disabled.

If it's displaying two amber lights, then you simply have a rogue source of IR.

e.g. A stuck button on a remote, etc.
