View Full Version : tivo to tivo without wireless router...

If I plug tivo wireless adapters into the backs of my two series 2 tivo's will I be able to transfer shows from one to another? Yes, both have tivo subscriptions. No, I don't have a wireless network, my main tivo is connected via the phoneline (the other is not connected at all- no cable feed in my basement). I'd like to transfer shows, and was wondering if this could be done with the adapters alone.

You don't need a router at all, just 2 adaptors and a crossover cable (wired only).

It can still be done with wireless adaptors. :)

You can create a peer to peer network with two wireless adapters. You do not need a router. See the pdf page 30 or page 28 of the manual referenced above.

I never knew you could do peer to peer wireless on the Tivos. Can you do three tivos?

If you can do two I don't see why you couldn't do three. I'm glad someone else found this thread useful, I can't wait to transfer shows to my basement tivo, thanks all!
