I had to turn it off. That laugh track was just too much. Another show I will never watch, thanks to the network trying to tell me what I should think is funny.

Ditto on the laugh track comments! It was so jarring that in the opening, when they were playing racquet ball and the laugh track started, at first I thought that was supposed to actually be part of the show - like the camera would pan around and all their friends would be sitting there laughing at them. It was weird.

After I got used to the laugh track, I still didn't love it. The only part I laughed at was the final scene when they ran into the ocean. For some reason that amused me.

This one has potential so I will probably keep the SP for 2-3 more episodes.

I liked it better than 30 Rock before it. That's not saying much.

I thought it was okay. Kind of a twist on the Odd Couple theme. I think Lithgow is a comedic genius. I loved the "We're living on the edge now, women will often strike us" line. As mentioned, it's much better than 30 Rock. If they plan on keeping both in this time slot, this should be the lead-in.

I usually give shows three shots before I pass judgement.

This is a first...I deleted the Season Pass this morning after sleeping on it.

I always feel that the comedic Lithgow goes a little too over-the-top. I would rather see him in a dramatic role on tv.

Yea, better than 30 Rock.

But that's like saying getting punched in the face is better than getting kicked in the crotch.

I like John Lithgow and I hope this show improves. And I agree, ditch the laugh track

I watched it as a lead in from 30 Rock. Walked away 20 minutes in (and I waited that long since I was busy doing something). Didn't really care for Jeffrey Tambor's character. Not my cup of tea. More a Golden Girls type show.

And I thought the opposite. I at least could make it through 30 Rock.

I agree about Lithgow being too animated. I thought the same thing about 3rd Rock From The Sun, and that Bigfoot movie he was in. To me, he is much more suited for dramatic roles.

Laugh track killed this one right from the start. I like Lithgow and Tambor and think this has some potential. I too first thought of the Odd Couple as I was watching this. This isn't high-brow comedy, so maybe it has a chance to survive.

Deleted it nine minutes in. I don't particularly care for Tambor, but the laugh track is what made it unbearable. Much, much, much worse than "30 Rock."

I agree about the laugh track. I enjoyed Lithgow - and he doesn't look bad in a swimsuit for an old guy! :D

I usually like Tambor but he seemed to be trying too hard to keep up with Lithgow instead of just being himself. It seemed forced. Then again it was the pilot. Maybe he will settle down after a few shows. I'll give it a couple of more shows before I decide.

Yes! It was awful, and I was looking for the gimmic too. First deleted SP of the season. I think the only thing I watch with a LT is "How I Met Your Mother" and even there it makes me cringe. My AH devotion keeps me coming back.

I liked it, but you all are right, the laugh track simply must go. I've never cared for John Lithgow in general, and his performance in this only cemented that feeling, but I like Jeffrey Tambor, and that's enough to make me stick around for at least one more episode.

FWIW, 20GY actually beat 30 Rock in overall households, but lagged behind it in 18-49.

Only got about 10 minutes in before we turned it off and moved to something else. Laugh track was horrible and the whole premise just seemed ludicrous, not to mention that the characters were assinine.

It was only ok for me.

I kept thinking that Tambor and Lithgow should have switched roles. I could have bought Lithgow as the straight man better than Tambor...

Glad to see I didn't miss anything. The previews alone were enough to keep me from watching.

Did Lithgow come right out and actually ask for an Emmy during the show?

I can see some segments of the population really going for this show, laugh track and all, but not me. I'm gonna give it another couple of weeks though before I give up on it, simply because I think should give any show with Lithgow and Tambour a decent chance.

I absolutely do not need to see Lithgow in a Speedo though. I'm definitely ditching the show if they do that again!

Man was this awful. There's nothing I find more condescending than a laugh track. Hey that was a joke...you're supposed to laugh!!

Writing is everthing. And Lithgow's character, sheesh, I thought for a second the rest of the Solomon's were going to show up!

I liked this one better than "30 Rock". Yes, the laugh track was (and always is) annoying. Maybe they should have used the LT during "30 Rock" so I would have known where to laugh though!

I like John Lithgow, although he seemed to be playing the same role as on "Third Rock".

I like Jeffrey Tambor too.

How long till Peter Boyle guest stars?

I didn't care for 30 Rock and unfortunately, I didn't care for this show either. I might give it another guy, I really do like to get a show a chance, but it just wasn't for me.

I think I gave it about 12 minutes. I won't be back.

I love both Tambor and Lithgow, so I'll definitely give this show another chance. It definitely got better as it went along, I thought, as I got used to the characters, etc. Though any scenes with the daughter were fairly painful. My favorite line was the British accent line, that one actually made me chuckle. Other than that, well I'll just have to wait and see.

I just tried to watch this tonight. I couldn't make it through it. Not only was the laugh track annoying, as everyone has pointed out, but there was nothing remotely funny in the show. I didn't even smile, let alone laugh.

It was too painful to watch and I gave up on it about 20 minutes in. I cancelled the Season Pass already, making it the first to go this year.

I don't like it much. The LT in the racquetball court was just out of plase, but okay elsewhere.
