i have a Sonytivo and when i press the record buttom,the machine record only 30 min,so can i changer to longer time??thanks

You'll need to expand on your question. Do you mean it only records the last 30 minutes? The 30 minute buffer? I don't think the buffer is easily changed - requires "hacking" the TiVo. Or is there a problem that prevents, say, hour long shows only recording half?

When you press record, the TiVo only records the current program that is in the schedule. It also can only record what is in the live tv buffer. If you changed the channel recently, there is not much in the live buffer. Once you have pressed the record button, you should be able to go into the now playing list, select the recording, and extend it (although the extending ability is probably a series 2 feature). If you have a series 1, then it probably does not have the ability to extend a recorded program.
