Since VideoReDo gives the option of creating a .mpg file, can I just have VideoReDo create the .mpg file or do I have to save it as a .vob and then change the file extension? It doesn't seem like it should make a difference but you never know with some of these programs.

If you are using DVDStyler, save it as a VOB. With the latest Beta of DVDStyler, I don't believe that you need to change the file extension.

For the reason you save as VOB, see this *** POST *** (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=4225271&&#post4225271) . DVDStyler uses DVDAuthor. If you don't rename the .vob to .mpg, you may need to drag the video file from a Windows Explorer window into DVDStyler, so I heard somewhere (haven't tried it myself).
