Now that the new slimline dish has been installed (thread (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=684113#post684113)), I was curious if anyone else over here has had it installed at their location. I have an install coming up soon but want to push it back if the new dish is popping up everywhere else.

The new dish bring in better signal strengths like going from the Phase II to the Phase III dish did?

The Slimline is a bit smaller.... but not that much smaller.

My father is upgrading to an HR20 on 10/26. D* told him that if he didn't get a slimline and they installed an AT9 then they would replace the AT9 with a slimline when they had them in his area.
He didn't even ask or know anything about the slimline dish, the D* rep offered it up on her own.
Makes you wonder if they are going to do this with everyone eventually.

The Slimline is a bit smaller.... but not that much smaller.
But a whole lot less ugly.
Getting an mpeg-4 receiver/dvr was going to wait on the slimline....now it is also going to wait until there are leaves on the trees again to make sure all is well.

Cool. Slimline is starting to roll out AND D* just announced my Buffalo MPEG-4 HD locals due by year end. Hopefully by that time the HR20 problems will be mostly fixed and I can upgrade to it and the slimline and not have to fight with my HR10's crappy OTA tuners. Those tuners are fracking frustrating!

Yes they are. I can get pegged signal on my TV (Sony SXRD) at 98 and the HR10 tuners will say 82 and wobble.
My plan is to hope for the S3 price to come down, swap my HR10 for an HR20 (assuming dual buffers and other things are fixed) and swap my cable SA8300 for an S3, so I will still have TiVo and one non-TiVo DVR. From what I've seen here the HR20, while not quite my favorite cause it ain't a TiVo is far better than the SA8300.
