I know it's possible on the ol series 2 ones, but is it possible on our s1?
Just wondering if I can get rid of the pretty bleak "almost there.. a few minutes more" and put something a little more interesting there.

Yes, it's possible. Some lucky people have the following splash screen :D
You need to replace the appropriate .cs22 file in the /tvbin folder with your image converted to a .tga file. Do a search in the archives for cs22 to see how it's done.

As you can see from one of the linked threads,I tried it but never got it to work The application crashed repeatedly and when it did work, the image never displayed on the TiVo screen.
Shame - although I'd rarely see it, it would be nice to have Test Card F as my splash screen as I had on my old Samsung 709 DVD player before it started crashing (almost certainly due to the Eprom change)

It's a linux program - you should be able to run it from a bash prompt on any x86 PC.

That's the bit that didn't work for me!
I did get it to run once or twice without crashing, but I think that was out of sheer luck rather than expertise. Even then the output files were definitely incomplete or corrupt as they were quite different in size to the internal ones and didn't display on the TiVo.
The best I ever got was an image that displayed about two thirds of the length of the screen before stopping.

The program only output the correct files if they are NTSC format (720 x 480), I managed to get this to work but I had to make my pictures off-centre to display correctly!
Does anyone have a modified version that will do the business for PAL?
Thanks
