Hi! Does anyone know where I can find Dancing with the Stars from last night, 10/10/06? I checked my Tivo and it recorded True Hollywood Story instead! Guess I need to get on that Season pass list - but for now I'm desperate to find DWTHS! Samba is my favorite dance.
Thanks!

You aint kidding! 2 things bug me about her dancing: 1. every step just looks so stiff and calculated. 2. She dances at half the speed/tempo as any other dancer, including Jerry!

+1 I think, it's more of a popularity contest !

Yes, she is extermely slow compared to the other amatures, it's frustrating!
I thought she deserved to go well before Vivica.

Fidelina: I think you're on your own. ABC.com doesn't have it as a streaming download. Honestly, I think you can watch tonight and see most of the good stuff from last night.

Agreed. Sarah should go. And Tony can save some money by not using so much hair-gel on show days.
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Jerry will be in the bottom two with Sarah tonight. I think at this point the novelty may have worn off for a lot of voters, especially since Jerry reached his goal of a waltz plus one more new dance. There are way too many better dancers left, so Jerry's departure is soon approaching ...

I hope it's Jerry and Sarah and Sarah leaves tonight. I do think Jerry actually did an entertaining dance last night, but he should be right after Sarah to leave.

Did you guys think Sara's & Jerry's dances were worth 24? I thought some of the better dancers should have gotten more than the 27's they got.
I smelled "price-fixing" all last night.

If you ignore Sara and Jerry, I think its getting tough at the top. The top 4 could easily have been all 10's.
It's probably a question of the fan base now.

It's clearly popularity...
Sara Evans has a huge fan base who will ensure she stays for a while... Wila on the other hand was tied for 1st place by the judges, but in the bottom 2 (well, okay...THE bottom)...
Doesn't make sense...
Well, let me clarify...it makes a lot of sense given the way that the stars are measured... The contest and the measurement system just aren't aligned...at least not to my expectations...

No, but they're voting with their hearts/loins instead of their brains.

One thing the judges can do to help right things is to LOWER the scores of less-deserving dancers. Really lower. 3s even.
However, this may just piss-off the irrational fans who think their guy/gal is more deserving, rallying the troops to vote for that lesser dancer.

Perhaps the wardens did listen to Jerry and allow "his fans" to vote for him ;)

This summer they had the "So you think you can dance" competition with all young dancers.
In this case there were no celebrities just home town affiliations.
It was pretty clear who the best guy and girl was but there were fanatics there to. They program dial and get all their friends. If you looked at the FOX message boards, its like they were crying and trying to get the vote out. Specifically I am referring to Donyelle who was good but no where near as good as Allison or even Heidi.
On this show, your right Celebrity and general likeability regularly trumps skill.
Dancers who have a good smile and seem to be enjoying themselves go farther.
I am still at a loss to explain how Jerry Rice made it to the finals last time.

Wow, first time I've ever been moved to post on here.
I watch both DwTS and SYTYCD religiously and I love them both but I'm pretty offended by what you just said.
Dancing, like singing, is subjective. Some people may appreciate someone's dancing more than other people because of how they feel when they watched it.
I loved watching Donyelle dance this summer and I voted for her for 2 hours straight every week and I'm not ashamed of that. I admit that I voted for her because of the combination of her personality and her dancing. However, I don't appreciate being labeled a "fanatic" because I chose to support her over Allison and Heidi or whoever else you think was "more deserving."
BTW, I also loved Jerry Rice last season and I'm glad he made it to the finals. I guess we can agree that we don't appreciate the same type of dance. :)

Well I guess I can be thankful for this because I AM deleting this Season Pass. First they kick off Vivica, then they kick off Willa and those were the only 2 women on the show that I actually LIKED to watch dancing. Stupid Sara-loving audience!
Oh well, this just clears up some of my TV watching conflicts. :D
no more Willa ? No chance I'll ever watch it again
I guess Tom Delay got his revenge after all.

If you voted for two straight hours every week. Your a fanatic by definition.
marked by excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion <they're fanatic about politics>
I agree we all might have different opinions but I saw people on the websites acting like it was a political campaign and trying to get out the vote when they saw there person might be down in the polls.
Many people vote because the person is from their hometown, or ethnic persuasion or even the music style. The technical skill becomes secondary for many people.
The producers know this and all about viewership and entertainment and not about the best performer.
I enjoy all of them but I am not out their running campaigns for these people.

For those of you who'd like to see Sara go, you've gotten your wish:

"Country singer Sara Evans on Thursday announced she was filing for divorce and quitting the "Dancing With the Stars" television competition.
Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske in Williamson County, Tenn., where she lives, according to a statement issued by Allen Brown, her representative at Sony BMG Music Entertainment."

There is precedent for it... when someone has voluntarily left other reality-type shows, they have brought back the last person eliminated... so there's hope for Willa and her fans, yet, few as they may be... ;) :p
Willa is not in my top two, so I don't care if she comes back or not... I do think she's a better dancer than Sara, but everyone isn't watching the show just to see the best dancer, but rather to see their favorite celebrity... for those here stating that they're going to stop watching the show because Willa got voted off, that's fine, probably better Willa's fans stop watching (who are fewer) than Sara's (who are greater)... ;)
It's all about the ratings... they can have the greatest dancers in the world, but if nobody's watching it, it won't last...
I'm ready for Jerry and Emmitt to leave...
For the entertainment value, I'd probably rather see Emmitt go first, keeping Jerry one more week...
My top three are still Mario, Joey & Monique...
If Willa comes back, then I'd add her to my top 4...

Jerry should have been gone a long time ago....he is not good! From a purely dancing standpoint, sure... but Jerry brings comic relief to the show, which I find more entertaining than Emmitt's dancing...
I've said this before in previous weeks' Dancing with the Stars threads, while I don't much enjoy Jerry's dancing, I have enjoyed his witty, self-effacing banter...
In the end, there can be only one left standing; everyone else will be eliminated...

I think some people also watch the show to see the pro's like Cheryl Burke for example.
I really enjoyed some of the wednesday routines like when Ashely And her sisters did a routine.

Sara's departure probably explains a lot now. When you have something bad happening personally it's hard to be enthusiastic about other things in your life. A buddy of mine was so stressed during his divorce he was losing his hair!

Additional reports say Sara Evans will appear on Tuesday's show, but they don't say if she's going to be competing, or just saying good-bye. I really hope she's not dancing for votes, because it would not be fair if she survived a vote for her last performance and someone else gets voted off ...

I expect that she'll say goodbye and be the volunteer "kick-ee" this week. Another option (that doesn't involve bringing someone back) is for Sara to bow out and have both this week's and next week's dances make up each team's score.

When Cory was unexpectedly kicked off American Idol one week, they just added the votes from that week and the following week for the remaining contestants instead of bringing someone back... which I believe may have been done that way because it was after the performances that week, but before the results show, that he was kicked off...

Wouldn't it be great if they invite Willa and Max back? This would keep the progression of departing dancers on track to get the final two ... otherwise they kick no one off and do what Martin says.
