And if so, what do I need to do to make the S3 see it? Thanks!!

You mean TivoToGo's Windows processes? If so, you're in for some news. There's no Transfer of shows to/from the S3 yet.

if you mean the tivoserver program that mimics a tivo on a pc that requires you to hack your box then no.

If you mean TiVo Desktop then the Music and Photo sharing components work but the transfer olf programs between the PC and the TiVo do not.

Also, if you are talking about Music and Photo sharing, I would recommend using Galleon instead of TivoDesktop. Many more options.

http://www.galleon.tvDoes Galleon work with the Series 3? And if it does, is anything in it crippled on the S3? I couldn't find any mention of it on their site.

Everything works except anything to do with video transfer (such as getting a list of recorded programs)

Chris.

Yep, as Bodshal said above, Galleon works great on the S3. Haven't seen any threads of anyone having any problems with it.

Yup, it shows up automatically on the S3 after you have configured and installed at least 1 app. Just tried it last night with Desktop (displaying your PC desktop) & Photos apps and both worked fine. As mentioned already anything to do with Video Transfers doesn't work (you can't even get a list of your recorded programs let alone transfer them of course). Being new to Tivo this was my 1st experience with Galleon and so far have found it very useful and well designed. Just wish at some point that transfers of unprotected recordings will be enabled by Tivo (TTG)...

I just wish that something ala TIVOServer would work with the S3 so I could dump my Windows MCE box and JUST use my tivo to view all my avi's.

NO OUTSIDE video is allowed on the S3 currently due to cablelabs restrictions (and the way tivo has decided to implement them- eg nuking all the viedeo in or out funtions)

in theory once cablelabs stops holding up tivo then tivo to come back (i believe that's the official name) will work with the S3, It would hopefully playback MP2 as well as mp4 and wmv files. SO the conversion that tivoserver does on the fly wouldn't be needed.

IWhen(if) extreanal video playback is enabled then check out tvharemony autopilot. It is a beta and pretty ugly and buggy still but it's free. Basically it automated converting most any video to tivo formats. It's not currently on demand like tivoserver so you need to plan in advance but they seem to be working on an update to semi automate it.
