View Full Version : Any way to replace older style peanut remote?
My parents have a series 1 tivo w/lifetime and upgraded to 166 hours. Their smaller peanut remote is failing and thedy prefer the smaller size. Is there any options besides ebay that I would have?
OT, what was the business that was offering the HD tivo for preorder at a discount a couple of years ago? For the life of me, I can't remember.
Thanks!

They don't make those small peanuts any more, so your only option is eBay.

You could ask on craigslist or the like.

This remote sold by 9thtee (http://www.9thtee.com/tivoreplacementparts.htm) seems to be the closest thing available that's new. But as the others said, also check eBay or Craigslist.

Have they actually tried the newer remotes? We have 3 peanuts, none of which is alike (one is a smaller-sized S1) and I really don't notice which one I'm using (all our TVs are Sonys so the remotes work interchangeably and with little kids, they tend to move around a bit and get lost). While visually, one is clearly larger, they all feel about the same in my hand.
