hi everyone, if I buy a tivo at an electronics store like best buy and I call up to activate the service, how much will i have to pay (minimum) a month? thanks.

Unless I am wrong the monthly service is $12.95 for the first unit and $6.95 for additional units up to 5.

Should be 12.95 a month with a one year commitment. Confirm on the TiVo web site. You can get it for less per month with prepaid service.

Are you sure? On tivo.com it says the lowest price is 16.95 a month....someone please explain!

The other prices are when you buy the box from Tivo.com. At least that is how I interpret it.

The 16.95 a month is because you are getting a box for free (in the 80 HR ST case) or discounted "greatly" (in the 80 HR DT case for $30 "upgrade" fee).

If you buy a box retail you can pay 12.95/month but if you plan on having the box longer and have money upfront then it is of course cheaper to go prepaid that is unless you already have a Tivo then the Multi-Service Discount at 6.95/month is the best pricing.
