I currently have two Tivos Series2 with service. I'd like to add a third Tivo to another room.

Can a Tivo Series2 without service be added to your home network? I only want to transfer recordings from my other two Tivos to another room for viewing.

I'm trying to put together a home gym and I'd like to occasionally watch stuff off my other Tivos.

No. Series 2 requires a subscription.

Your best bet would be a LeapFrog-type setup where a TiVo beams the signal to the TV in the other room.

The 3rd TiVo has to be activated to use the Multi-Room Viewing. However, with 2 other TiVo's in your house, your third will be good for the $6.96 price MSD. Not a bad deal for $6.95/month IMO.
