Is it possible if I networked my TiVo to be able to move files from my pc to my TiVo.?

For example, downloaded tv shows or captured home movies? Currently I copy stuff to my ipod and plug that into the tv but if I could add them to the TiVo I think that would be much better. Would I be able to name shows and watch them from the now playing menu etc?

Thanks.

It is possible but talk of that is not allowed on here, you may want to google for a "database" where you can get good "deals" :)

Ok thanks, apologies if I asked a question I shouldn't have. I can't say I thought there could be anything wrong with putting my own stuff onto my own TiVo but there ya go ! I shall look for that place such I can ! Thanks again.

Personally, I'm not convinced that "insertion" by itself is a banned topic.

The problem is that to do insertion you would need to use tools that can also be used for extraction on Series 1 machines - talk of which definitely is banned.

Of course, when TiVo release a Series 3 machine over here (or even a Series 2) then TiVoToGo will be a part of the system software so we'll be able to talk about extraction, insertion, sharing, playing MP3s, viewing photos etc. to our hearts' content :)
