I just found out the Bears will be on CBS which means in Chicago, HD is only on the over the air 2-1 channel which does not have enough power to keep an HD picture and it fades out all the time. Thats why I have the HD local feeds from the East coast which is not showing the Bears game. If I call directv and let them know, can they unblock the 700 HD channel so I can see the game in HD?
Thanks vid53

No, they will not unblock it.
When I had the HR10 connected... To get CBS-VHF3, I had to UNPLUG my Son's computer. (Turning it off didn't do it, I had to flip the switch on the power strip).
His computer was on a completely different circuit as the HR10, and was a good 20 ft from the system.
I also then had to sometimes shut my wifes computer off sometimes.
I did that... boom.. worked good enough.
And I am about 35 miles SW of downtown, with an attic mount antenna
(Side note: the H20 receiver, can tune in CBS OTA regardless if I have all the computer in my house on)

I live in the general area where Earl lives and I get great HD reception on 2-1. My antenna is laying in attic and it is a big older antenna, full of dust, etc. Set mine to record Bears game until I get home from church. I hope Bears keep it up after my SOX lost out. :( :( :(

Guys, Why do you insist on torturing yourselves like this? If you watch it in HD, it will only add to the pain of seeing your Bears beaten by a team that was picked by the "experts" to be one of the worst in the NFL. :D
Go Bills!

Not a prediction...just some tongue in cheek trash talk from a delusional Bills fan.

FYI. I live in the Chicago area, but I was able to get the Bears game in HD via Sunday Ticket (Chan 725?). It was not blacked out.

From what I have heard and in my own experience through the first 5 weeks is (Superfan) HD channels are not being blacked out while the SD channels are. (when it comes to your local channels carrying any particular game)

It is not that it was "blacked out"... you must have the Sunday Ticket package.
The OP wanted to get access to the Sunday Ticket channel, with out having the Sunday Ticket

Apparently CBS can't afford HDTV camera and setup for the NFL games. The past 4 to 5 games i've seen on cbs were in regular definition. Read somewhere that they only have 3 sets of hdtv cameras.
Cheap B@stards :(

Just spend the money like the rest of us and get Sunday Ticket. It is worth every penny.

I'm guessing you could have just bought that one Sunday's worth of Sunday Ticket, I know they do that for ESPN Gameplan.

:) Had breakfast with my buddy who was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y. He had shut off his phone at the end of the 1st half yesterday. Said he was embarassed at how inebt the Bills played. Wasn't sure if the Bears were that good or the Bills were that bad. I assured him it was a lot of both. ;) :)
