So, I just ordered my S3 and got a new HDTV to boot. Since I was impatient to start watching HDTV I simply plugged my cable smack dab into the new TV and lo and behold, I've got all the HD channels: ESPN, NESN, ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS....
I thought the whole idea behind cable card and cable boxes was that some of those channels are encrypted and I shouldn't be able to do what I did.
Does this mean I'm not going to need cable cards?
It's funny because I was flipping back and forth between the HD channels and the SD channels and even though it's 780p it doesn't look that different from the 480i except for the widescreen. I've become so accustomed to the S2 that EVERYTHING looks amazing when it's not coming through there. Can't wait for tomorrow's NFL action....
