NTL - Samsung or Pace ?

Hi

I currently have analogue cable on NTL, but am upgrading to Digital next week. Could anyone suggest the make of box to go for ?

I've read posts about the Samsung box being unreliable since the channel changes, but have also seen some people experience problems with the Pace ones too. Is there a preferred box which is more reliable for TiVo that i should ask for ?

My entirely personal view after moving from a pace to Samsung box...

The Pace box's run lot hotter (an issue if it's in a cabinet), they are a bit slower than the Samsung (especially on interactive stuff if you use it)

The Samsung boxes do seem to be more susceptible to IR problems (after some tweaking mine works OK now)

Both boxes seem to have memory leeks that slowly consume resource, I would still recommend a mains switch although I am starting to think that a weekly reboot would be just as good on a Samsung box as the nightly switch on the Pace box.

Thanks for the response. I think i'll go for the Samsung.

The only trouble i may have, is that i don't have the IR sensor lead. It never came with one when i bought mine on eBay. Does the IR blaster on the front of TiVo work ok ?

If not, is there anywhere where i could get a replacement IR sensor lead?
