This one surprised me. I had been using analog cable and OTA for HD. I have quite a few SP's set up on the OTA channels. Got my CCs installed to day (WOO!) and all of the SP's automatically switched to the 800 channels (my HD channels). I was prepared to have to reenter all of them. That was a very nice surprise.

One more +1 on this box.

One more +1 on this box. That sounds strange... Personally I wouldn't want that to happen. I would rather the S3 continue to record my HD locals via OTA rather than the cable feeds of the same. I would like to only record HD channels via cable that I can't receive OTA.

Did you still keep OTA as an input or did you switch to cable only? Perhaps what happened to you makes sense if OTA input was eliminated.

Oh, yea, I should have mentioned. No, I did not keep OTA as an input. I'll monitor quality, but I am very happy with Comcast's delivery of my locals.

Had you deselected the OTA channels from the "Channels I receive" screen?

I selected Cable only when I reran guided setup. The OTA channels aren't available in that list.

The TiVo remembers stations by call sign first, so if you scheduled your recordings on xxxxDT, it'll go try to find xxxxDT on cable since the channel you first set was removed. (If you scheduled them on the non-HD channel, it probably would have correctly picked the non-HD channel on cable too.)

Makes sense. Thanks. Still glad I didn't have to redo all of them.

It's just the fine evolution of what older TiVos have always been capable of!

In my various moves, roommate-shared TiVo arrangements and what-not, I've had to repeat Guided Setup a multitude of times for various unGodly combinations of Cable, OTA, Dish etc and NEVER had to readjust the channels on which the SPs were recorded. All my TiVos always did the right thing!
