View Full Version : Every day I use my S3, I'm happy I didn't wait another minute!

I had it less than 24 hours and ordered a 2nd. Transfered my 2 lifetimes and I couldn't be happier.

First there was Tivo + cable + TV. Life was good.

Then you had to add a cable box to get premium channels (with Tivo controlling the box) - what a hassle.

Then you got a HD TV and had to switch the cable box to a DVR to be able to record HD content. If you also let Tivo control the box...even bigger hassle. Not to mention the cable co. DVR majorly sucked.

Now the cable co. DVR is gone and it's just Tivo + cable + TV again. ahhhh.

It's simple, it looks good, it works great.

Thank-you Tivo!

Same here! Very pleased with my S3 and all its dual-tuner HD goodness.

I haven't been this happy since I got married. :D

Seriously, I would have loved to have saved a couple of hundred bucks but I wonder if I would have gotten the first class install of cable cards that I got if I had waited.

I love TiVo. And for the first time in my life I'm actually happy with my cable company. (TW)

Same here. I had to wait for the S3 to be delivered and then wait another 5 days for the cable guy to bring over and activate the cable cards and I had a lot of buyer's remorse during that time, but once it was up and running, I've been completely delighted with it. It's so much better than fooling around with a cable box and a separate TiVo which only recorded in standard def, when the IR blaster worked at all, which was always a crapshoot. Yes, it was a lot of money, but if you really enjoy watching television, why settle for an inferior setup.

Amen, I'll be ordering #2 soon, and maybe #3 too.

Amen, I'll be ordering #2 soon, and maybe #3 too. Now that is devotion. So you people ordering more than 1 must have more than 1 HDTV in the house too? Otherwise I don't see the point of more than 1 especially without MRV.

I could see someone deciding to get an S3 just for its superior recording qualities with SD.

?? How is it superior? Not arguing, just wondering...

Better encoding.

If you record the same analog show on the Series 2 and the Series 3, you can see a noticable improvement in playback.
