Hi All,

I have been having a problem with my HR10 for the last month or so, and I need your expert help!

1) I upgraded my TV and am now using the HDMI cable instead of the DVI.
2) I am still on 3.x code, haven't gotten the 6.3x upgrade yet.
3) Am using an optical cable for sound.

Symptoms:

1) Occasional crackling kinda sound, seems like mostly in my rear speakers, mostly during HD broadcasts. Also, I get occasional sound drop-outs. Maybe 2-3 seconds of no sound.
2) A reboot seems to fix it for a while.
3) Have had almost one spontaneous reboot every day.
4) After a reboot, things seem fine. I'm THINKING that this may get worse when I force a daily call, but I have no real evidence to support that.

Do you think this is a HD problem? A HR10 problem? An HDMI problem?

If my HR10 reboots during Lost, I will seriously consider my own death via hanging... :-)

Thoughts?

- Thanx in advance for any help you can give!!!
- Jon

Ha! I know what you mean about Lost but I managed to get thru without problem. Of course, i did a backup recording on *both* my SD tivos - I really need to get a life.

I've been having similar problems (still on 3.x, connected via HDMI)
1) Yes - others have suggested this is not an HR10 problem per se. Also, I'm in SF Bay Area as well and watch HD via OTA. There have been several problems with feeds over the last couple of weeks affecting several channels - I was having video and audio dropouts. You should bookmark this: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=369015 as a good place to get information on various OTA feeds. I found out there that others were having the same problem so figured it out it wasn't my box.
2) Haven't done that yet
3) go here: http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=296309 to see how some folks are using the clear program data to stop reboots. I think this is unrelated to other problems

Also, there are many many posts in this forum on HDMI failures with the HR10.
