I'm not checking for any update. Don't want anything to mess up Battlestar recording tonite!!! :D :)

Agreed.

I watched (waited that is) the first two season on UHD and will do the same tonight. The hardest part is avoiding TV Guide like sites with spoilers as the season moves forward. I much prefer to see that great show in HD.

There's no way I can wait. I tried before, but it's too darn long. I've already waited enough.

It's so bad that I ended up downloading the first season before it aired here in the US.

I watched it over the summer in HD and it was great. But I can't wait either and will watch it in SD. The compression is horrible IMO on SciFi.

It's letterboxed right? Do you zoom it to fill the screen? I always used to watch it in SD on a 4:3, but now that I have a 16:9 TV in the bedroom I'll have to make the "to zoom or not to zoom" decision. Compression artifacts zoomed might be unbearable.

I always zoom letterboxed SD shows. The worst artifacting is on Eureka but it is still livable (just pretend you are watching on an older TV).

The BS reruns seem to zoom much better than Eureka on both D* and Comcast for me, so I will zoom them (same with Dr Who).

But, once you "wait" once, you are back in sync. Remember, it hasn't been that long for those of us that watched Season 2 in HD on UHD. We didn't see last season BEGIN until it was over in SD on Sci-Fi. So, it doesn't "seem" like it is time for BSG yet, so not a problem....

BSG in HD vs. SD is no comparison, if for no other reason than the sound....Even the opening sequence is so much more ominous...

I wish i would have started watching BSG on UHD. I would much rather watch in in HD, but i can't wait now!! I'm jonesing for some new BSG!!

And, I can't zoom my tv in. The digitial connection doesn't allow me to zoom in the picture. I can only strech the show in my hr10, and I HATE stretched shows. I'd rather watch with the boxes than stretch it.

Much as I hate to, I'm going to have to wait for the UHD run. It just looks SO much better. Besides, I'm filling up both an HR10 and HR20 with almost more than I can watch right now, what with all the other new stuff that's on. But I have to say, BSG is right on up there with my favorite shows.

Question? I have a season pass but since it's2 hrs. long tonite, will it also record 2nd BSG segment?(2nd hr.)

If I couldn't zoom without stretching, I would never do it.

I can zoom on my TV (Sony) or on my cablebox.

I'm going cablebox on BSG because the picture on Sci Fi is just a tad better (although FF thru commercials is painful).

I guess it doesn't matter now, but it was 2-1 hour segments, not 2-2 hour segments.

I'm not sure what you mean, but my TiVo recorded it as a two-hour block, not as two one-hour blocks.

Thats the way mine recorded it also, one 2 hr. track.

Meaning it was 2 ACTUAL EPISODES that were 1 hour each broadcast in ONE 2 hour block. "Segments" may have been the wrong term to use when I meant episodes.

You're right. The video quality was so bad.

When will this season be broadcast on UHD?

Last year they started in January and continued with the 2nd half of the season immediately following the completion of the first.
