DNS and HD locals over SAT?

I currently have the following:
- HR10-250 and 3 SD Tivos
- Total Choice Plus w/Locals
- SD DNS from NY
- HD DNS from LA
- Some HD locals OTA

I'm adding an HR20 because my HR10 seems to be dying. I don't want to touch my programming package at all for fear of losing DNS.

If I add the HR20 to my 3 LNB system and don't touch the programming, I know I don't get any MPEG4 locals. But, if I later add a 5LNB dish, switch, etc. would I get the HD locals automatically, or would I have to contact DTV to change programming?

I went ahead and got the HR20 with HD locals about a month ago, and they did not cut off my SD DNS from the east or west coasts. And I still get the west coast HD LA feeds. It may not last, but that's the way it stands now.
