My TiVo was rock solid for years, but having relocated it in another room and using a Setpal freeview box I'm fing that at some point every single night it is rebooting.

Having checked the log files I find in the TVERR log for last night

Oct 6 02:22:44 (none) TmkAssertionFailure[161]: (ReWork, line 935 ())
Oct 6 02:22:44 (none) Mediaswitch0[161]: Tmk Fatal Error: Thread Mediaswitch0 <161> died due to signal -2

Oct 6 02:22:44 (none) Mediaswitch0[161]: Invoking rule 834: rebooting system

Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm not sure whether it's relevant but the Setpal box is typically powered to standby at that time of night.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark.

It would be the SetPal powered down at night :)

The TiVo will recognise that there is no signal coming through the SCART and after a while assume this is a fault with itself and reboot. I cannot remember what " a while " is but that is standard TiVo behaviour.

Yep! it was as simple as that, I've been turning off the Freeview box when I didn't have any recording due as the green ON light glowed in the bedroom.

I left it on last night and all was fine.

Thanks Rob!
