Service Update for S3 installing now

Just got my new S# the other day and I noticed this morning that it was in a pending restart state. I restarted the S3 and I have a message that says Service Update installing.

Any idea what this is?

Just what it says... it downloaded a software update last night and it's installing that.

No. Some minor post-release fixes, iirc.

i understant that it is installing an update, my question was asking if anyone else has seens this and what is the update doing.

As Gregor said, it's some minor post-release fixes that weren't put into the box at first (I'm guessing they'd update what they put in there initially at some point, but not yet apparently). I saw it the night that I set mine up, but then again I manually did the connect to the server that it normally does nightly... that's why you're seeing it in the morning.

I think it takes your unit from 8.0.1 to 8.0.1a.
