What is the monthly cost for your Tivo S3 over the next 3 years?

For the next 3 years (assuming it doesn't break and ignoring electricity costs), the total cost of using my Tivo S3 is:

$799.99 (hardware)
$299 (3-year service contract)
36 months @$5.50/mo (Cable monthly fees for CCs)
$30.05 (CC install fee)
-----------------------
$1,327.04 Total

or about $37/month.

After that, my monthly cost will presumably be around $20/month (CC monthly fees plus Tivo monthly fees).

I'm guessing that in 3 years there will be something better out there, and I will probably use that. But who knows for sure?

I'm planning on getting the multi-stream card when it's available, and not payign cable anything for the cards.

I was paying around $45 a month with Directv using a HR10-250. I canceled it because I mostly watched OTA channels and didn't see a reason to pay that much. My problem is paying $37 a month for just OTA channels and a few basic cable channels is not worth it either. I will have to wait for the S3 price to come down to justify dropping Directv to switch to S3.
