I got a Samsung DLP Captin Kirk model 2 years ago and I'm noticing the set seems darker then normal lately.
Is this an indication of needing a new bulb?
When, how much and where to purchase one?
Sorry if this if totally OT....point me in the correct place to post or move this post.

Thanks

yes
Not cheap (mine was $180)
have you tried www.samsungparts.com ?

I also have a Samsung (tho' only about 1 year old). I purchased a replacement from them to have it on hand. On my TV (http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/DLPTV/HLR5656WXXAA.asp) there are indicators on the front to tell me when the lamp is starting to fail.
