Hi there, I have recently become the proud owner of a Tivo box and so far (apart from a tempermental remote control) I am loving it.
I would appreciate any help with the following question. I currently have Sky digital and Tivo seems to interact well with it. Before I got my Tivo I was thinking of moving to NTL. Does Tivo interact as well with NTL or should I expect less functionality?
Thanks
Tivo will work with Sky, Freesat, NTL, Telewest, Freeview or regular analogue aerial.
In theory it should work as well with NTL as it does with Sky.
In practice if you are given an older Pace NTL box (1000 or 2000 serial number) you will need a 'cable adapter' to plug between the Tivo and the IR wands to allow Tivo to control the NTL box. The Pace 4000 series and newer Samsung NTL boxes don't need the adapter.
There are various current threads with some people experiencing issues with channel changing reliability following NTL renumbering their channels. This should get resolved in the end, Tivocommunity and Tivo are a resourceful bunch but unless there is a pressing reason to switch NOW then I might wait a few weeks.
If your remote is playing up you may wish to search a popular auction site - I bought 2 replacements and a spare power supply for a few quid last year.

Thanks, that was very helpful. I think I'll wait a month or so, then switch to NTL. I've got broadband and phone with then so I'll get a cheaper bundled service.
