I know this info must be somewhere as i'm sure i've read it! But I can't seem to find a guide to adding a second drive to my tivo... :o
IIRC, i need to put the tivo software onto it, which is fine as i have an image on cd, but after that I don't remember the next steps. Anyone know the URL for the step by step guide? Do I just hook up the new drive onto the same cable as the current drive and that's it? Wishful thinking probably!

Doh!
I'd seen that guide already, but I must have not been looking very hard! I just re-read it, and noticed the different "upgrade configurations".

If you have sufficient swap space on your existing drive then just follow Section 10, upgrade configuration #1.
If your new drive is > 250GB in size then make sure you also specify the -r4 switch to mfsadd to avoid the 274gb partition-size limit.
That's it :)

will do, thanks blindlemon.
As I will be keeping my existing drive, I dont have to bother with backing up my existing programs etc.. but i was thinking, can't i just ftp them over to my pc temporarily just in case? and then ftp em back over to the tivo should something go wrong when I add the 2nd drive? Or do I have to go the whole hog of using the backup option (which will take hours !)
