Watching it on time delay TiVo right now.

First thought:
[Sarcastic guy]HEY GHOSTBUSTERS GUY! THE 70'S CALLED, THEY WANT THEIR UGLY SUIT AND HORRIBLE HAIRDO BACK.[/sarcastic guy] :p

Second thought:
[Sarcastic guy]HEY EDIE! THE 70'S CALLED, THEY WANT THEIR STANKY EXPIRED MILLER LITE CANS BACK![/sarcastic guy]

Ok, I thought it was just me that found the Det.'s hairdo completely weird.

Anyway, I'm surprised Bree actually got married. Kinda glad the baby is not Carlos' and Gabby's, I thought that was a bad idea from the start. They should just get a dog.

Okay, so I just finished watching. So the fertility clinic messed up and it's not their baby so where does the baby go now???

I had major problems with my TiVo tonight and ended up with a split recording, one of length 0:18, the other length 0:33. From some comments in the last 20 minutes of the show, I figured out what I missed. Two years ago, I would have been pissed at missing so much, but now, not so much. I read all the articles about how Marc Cherry was bringing back the funny and the suspense, but I really haven't seen it yet. I'm definitely disappointed ...

Yeah, definitely a retro detective...too funny. I thought Lynette's line "he hurt my friend, he deserves all the crazy she brings him" (however it was actually phrased) was hilarious! I was waiting for her to use it again to Gabby as her defense.
I thought the baby was actually Cha Mai's (sp) that she'd gotten preggers with before being implanted with the embryo, but the mixup works all right too I guess.
Interesting that Orson killed another woman...didn't see that coming!

Sounds like your HR10-250 may be acting up. Lots of folks (including myself) are having this problem and are having to clear data and SPs to fix the issue. See here for details. (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=314757)

The whole Susan story isn't working. It seems like the writers don't know what to do with her this season.

Fire the narrator already - I can't stand the painfully obvious observations.

I was thinking... what if Orson really didn't kill his wife? That would be great. Maybe the crazy neighbor lady did it--she's secretly in love with Orson! Of course, Orson does have some kind of past, we know, since he ran over Mike at the end of last season.

But, no. The show appears to be going down the tried and true, blatantly obvious, quite uninteresting path. *sigh*.

These last two episodes were marginally better than last season so my SP isn't cancelled yet. But it's on the cusp. And, with both Dexter and The Wire also showing at 10pm on Sunday, DH has been relegated to my 3rd place SD DVR... even though both of those shows re-run 20 times a week each, I'd still rather record them at 10pm than DH.

Did anyone else notice that Susan's daughter has picked up on her mannerisms? It was almost as if she was doing a dead-on Terri Hatcher impersonation.

What did Orson say as he left the morgue? It was not English and I couldn't make a good guess at the translation.

It was French; something like "I will miss you, Monique".

I took enough French to recognize the language, but wish he'd spoken it more clearly. I too guessed something like what madscientist said.

According to the TwoP forums:

He said "Tu me manques, Monique", which means "I miss you, Monique".

Five years of French for me and I didn't even recognize that he was speaking French.

Of course, I don't talk English very goodly, neither.

The whole Susan story isn't working. It seems like the writers don't know what to do with her this season.Agreed. I fast forwarded through that entire exchange of toasts at the wedding.

I was thinking... what if Orson really didn't kill his wife? That would be great. ... But, no. The show appears to be going down the tried and true, blatantly obvious, quite uninteresting path. *sigh*.Yeah, I had been thinking/hoping the same thing. I was hoping that he wasn't the real killer and the him cleaning the house down was just what he did after he let her leave him; the cleaning as part of a way to just erase her from his memory and help him forget.

Except that Orson is a psycho. We know that. Remember the bird cage? His wife was going to take it with her, so there's no reason to believe that she would've left it behind.

Not the best episode of the show but much better than last year. I like where most of the show is going right now except the whole suzan story line. It could be the redneck in me but edie in almost nothing holding and cocking a shotgun was turn on.

His wife was going to take it with her, so there's no reason to believe that she would've left it behind.I know he's a psycho (after all, as I mentioned, he ran over Mike!)... that's why it would have been a great twist. It wouldn't be hard to come up with a reason for the bird to still be there. They could have had a real fight (hence the bird saying "no Orson no") then the wife ran out, or else the wife could have been so scared she left without it. There's no doubt he's a nut and dangerous (as I mentioned he ran over Mike). She didn't seem that attached to the bird (she said she'd have to leave it behind if it didn't get back into its cage).

I just think it would have been a much more interesting season if he didn't kill his wife. He could be guilty of lots of things (Monique?) but not that.

Though I enjoyed last season, I found that it left much to be desired, especially after a remarkable first season. That said, I think the whole "six months later" premise of the third season is cheating a bit too much. It's as though the writers basically wiped the slate clean after a disappointing second season. I know that many of the viewers of Desperate Housewives were disappointed with the direction the show took last season, but come on, you can't just pretend that none of it happened.

First, the writers bothered to have Susan's house burn down. Now its a non-issue. It hasn't affected her at all. The thing with Mike seems a little too easy and predictable as well. It seems as though we viewers are just being set up to have Mike wake up and Susan having to make a choice.

The Applewhites (never my favorites, but important to season 2 anyhow) are just gone. Seems like the whole storyline with them was a waste.

The Carlos-Gaby having-a-baby storyline has now been taken care of, too. I know many viewers didn't like the concept, but it, too was a significant plot line of season 2. It's too easy to say "Well, nevermind. Carlos and Gaby aren't going to have a baby after all."

It's not that I particularly liked where the story was going, but I do think that it's silly that the writers are going to pretend like none of it happened. It's almost as though season 2 never existed (which I know some of you are thinking is a good thing, but, for better or for worse, I think it should count for something).

Basically, what I'm saying is that the writers should own up to the events of last season. Even if they weren't happy with where the show was headed, they should've found another way to clean up the mess.

Watching them make the mess was bad enough :(

I guess what I was hoping for was that the writers would find a creative, entertaining way to fix their mistakes of last season without forgetting them completely.

Psst... MFruchey... it's 6 months later (per the first episode). Don't you think, in that time, the house issue would be resolved? The Applewhites would have moved on by now? Etc etc.

It's the fact that none of it has even been brought up, like it never happened. I just think it's cheating. It's the easy way out of a problematic second season. Obviously, I understand the premise of the third season being set six months later.

When Edie was at the open house, the nosy neighbor did make a comment about her putting a spin on "that nice rec room in the Applewhite's basement" (I think that was in the season premiere, but I watched both episodes back to back, so I'm not certain).

I think that'll be the last time we hear the Applewhite's name.

And that's a GREAT thing. Good riddance.

This show is definitely a guilty pleasure for me. Utterly ridiculous but I keep watching. If I wasn't secretly in love with Bree I would probably cancel the SP. :)

I may start FF every scene with Susan, though. Her character is just so darn annoying.

I always dread watching Eva's scenes due to her very abundant over-exposure, but then the scenes are always good with Gabby, so I guess it's gonna be one of those things where you have to seperate the actress from the role. Luckily she's good at doing that.

That's the ONLY reason to watch Eva's scenes lately. :)

Add Edie to that list also! (although she has a butter face.)

Julie herself seemed abnormally long and skinny. A growth spurt rivaled only by Lost's Walt. I hope she's not still supposed to be only fourteen.

Maybe I'm forgetting something, but where's Bree's daughter? I know she dumped her son on the side of the road (and no mention of that by anyone this season?), but where's the daughter? I mean her Mom remarried and she's not there?

Maybe we just have to be patient, but this statement sums up exactly what is bothering me about this six months later setup.

I was really hoping Rex would start narrating this season. His perspective on the neighborhood would seem appropriately sardonic.
