Help needed. Let me tell you the story about my HR-250 upgrade.
In Feb 2006 I bought and upgraded my HR10-250. I bought 2 400gb drives and a bracket online. When the drives arrived before the bracket I couldn't wait and upgraded the tivo making my own bracket. I figured that I would install the bracket when I got it, well almost eight months latter I finally installed the new bracket.
After installing the new bracket strange things started to happen. First when watching live TV the signal would drop out about every 3 seconds. After doing some research I found that the most likely problem was a bad HD. So I took them out and did a scan and found nothing wrong. I then put the drives back in with a new IDE cable. That seemed to work, but only for a couple of days and then the dropouts began again. Luckily I am building a new PC and happened to have 2 400gb HD's. So I installed the software on them and installed the new drives. Then even stranger things started to happen. After starting the unit I only get a blank screen when tuned to any Directv channel. Everything appears to be working; I am not getting the can't find signal warnings. I'm not getting any messages at all. However if I tune to a OTA channel they come in fine. Thinking that the install was bad I then tried installing the original drive that came with the unit. Same thing, only getting a blank screen. Please help! I called Directv, but they where no help. Have I killed my TIVO? :confused:
P.S. I have also cleared and deleted everthing.
