Series 1 doesn't work in Canada???

Well I got my new (used but new to me) TiVo HDR112 series 1 yesterday...I called TiVo setup my account with the 82327 zip code and got ready to start enjoying my new toy....went through the setup and then at the end of the day when it still wasn't working I called back support...oh sorry sir series 1 wont download the software version 7.2 in Canada....great now what do I do?

Is there any way to get this thing to work? it's got 3.0 software on it - can I get the software soemwhere else?

Any help will be apperciated...

S1 software development stopped at 3.0. There is no other software for the S1.

Thanks for the response - can I use it to manualy record programs without the TiVo guide or should I just list this baby on eBay?
